Customers Coming to Your Website [And Leaving]

Blog, Blogroll, One Minute Tips, Tips & Useful Websites 1 Comment

Hopefully, your website is NOT just a pretty glorified brochure
that you tell people to go to.

Instead, it’s a selling machine for you, generating ongoing fresh leads.

Many business owners are just happy having a site to send people to
and that’s OK if you have all the business you can handle.

BUT, if you want more business, you need to pay attention to a few things.

How much time do you think a prospect will wait for your website page to open?

Take a guess.

Answer- about 3-5 seconds and they are gone. Yikes.

Statistics say up to 40% of business can be lost.

The Good News

This can be fixed.

Tip #1 First, test your pages by going to them on your desktop, tablets, and mobile.

See what you find. if all good, great and you are done.

But if you find some slow loads of pages, get in touch with your webmaster
and get this solved pronto. Don’t wait on this, it’s costing you an opportunity.

Tip #2 Ask about your “Bounce rate”. This tells how quickly your prospects leave your site.
It would require a lot of time here to explain this so again, ask your webmaster to explain your bounce rate and what it means for your business. [Hint, the longer they stay on your site, usually the better]

Tip #3- Google Analytics- This is a wonderful free program telling you what is happening on your site. Many business owners can double their business by understanding what’s working in their marketing efforts and what is not. Tracking and testing are where the money is and this can be invaluable. Again, talk to your webmaster about Google Analytics.

Isaac Newton, one of the greatest scientists of all time once wrote:
“If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”

Napoleon Hill, the father of personal development said:
“No two minds ever come together without, thereby, creating a third,
invisible, intangible force which may be likened to a third mind.”

Facebook Marketing Tip

Blog, Blogroll, One Minute Tips No Comments

Facebook Marketing Tip

Ok, so here is the tip.

When attempting to reach audiences on FB, always think of
FB as a pie with multiple slices cut into it. I say this because
when you set up a campaign.

Instead of having ALL of your placements (desktop, right hand column,
mobile) under the same campaign as most people will instinctively do….
Create separate campaigns for each placement type.

So you’ll have:

=> 1 campaign with your desktop ads
=> 1 campaign with your right side ads
=> 1 campaign with your mobile ads

When you set it up this way you FORCE Facebook
to show your ads to a much larger audience over all,
versus trying to squeeze your entire audience into 1 campaign
and it’s singular budget.. Makes sense?

As for budgets, I always set my initial daily budgets at $5- a day.

Let it run for no less than 72 hours then check you stats and learn
where your marketing money is spent more wisely.

PPC (pay per click) can deliver immediate results for your insurance brand and in such a competitive sector, you’re brand needs to ensure its right in front of the target market to even start to compete for customers. So how can you make the most of PPC as a digital marketing channel? How can you ensure you’re not just throwing money into a strategy that will never deliver the results you want.

Invest in remarketing

Remarketing is a highly effective, and proven, method of getting those customers back to your site to purchase. Even if they’re not ready to purchase, remarketing can make sure those users have your name at the forefront of their mind whilst they’re browsing other sites going about their day.

Don’t focus on short-tail keywords, go long

Targeting long-tail keywords can help you increase your click-through rate. Imagine someone just searches for ‘insurance’, for example, how relevant is your ad going to be compared to what the user was specifically looking for? Building long-tail keywords into your strategy ensures that when the user types it in, it’s more specific, therefore the ad you’ve built will be more specific and much more likely to be clicked on.

With the voice search market growing exponentially, helped along with products including Amazon Echo and Google Home, your insurance brand needs to adapt its keyword strategy to reflect the expected increase in conversational search queries.

Implement CRO tactics

Even if you have a robust PPC strategy complete with highly specific long-tail keywords and you’re getting clicks like there’s no tomorrow, are they being sent to a dedicated landing page? Make sure you don’t fall at the last hurdle and present the user with an underwhelming landing page. Your PPC ad landing pages should almost mimic the text on your ad that made them click through in the first place.

The game is not won with the most clicks. Conversions are what matters in the end.

Don’t alienate the user and increase the chances of a high bounce rate, simply mirror the messaging all the way through from ad to landing page, making it crystal clear to the user that they are on the correct landing page. Removing navigation and keeping the page clutter-free from other offers and other items that command the user’s attention, will all help your PPC strategy perform at its best.

Action is the Foundational key to all success

Blog, Blogroll, Life Lessons, One Minute Tips No Comments

“Action is the Foundational key to all success. ” – Pablo Picasso

There’s a lot of misconceptions about what it takes to become an entrepreneur, and it’s those misconceptions that keep a lot of people from even trying.

They sit and wait, thinking they don’t have enough time or aren’t good enough.

Do you think you’re too poor? Too unorganized? Too young? On the flip side of that, do you constantly sit back and wish you took advantage of ideas you had when you were younger?

Here’s the reality: there are thousands of success stories out there from people who were in a worse position than you when they got started and overcame the odds.

Colonel Sanders of KFC fame was 65 when he opened his first restaurant. Yet, Mark Zuckerberg became the youngest billionaire in the world at 23.

If you want to become an entrepreneur, don’t distract yourself with negative thoughts. You don’t need decades of experience, hefty qualifications, or a stuffed bank account.

All you need to become an entrepreneur is a basic concept or creation that brings in money.
That’s it. Money can be borrowed, experience comes with trying, and what you don’t know about marketing can be learned by picking up a few books on Amazon or hiring a coach to help you.

Most of the success stories I come across are from people who were in bad spot in their life.
Some use the bad spot as an excuse not to try, but others are insanely hungry to succeed and they just do whatever it takes to get out of the situation.

Sadly, most wait until they’re at the bottom of the pit before doing anything about it.
Listen, life is extremely complicated. You may never think you’re good enough. There may never be a “right time.” If you see an opportunity that crosses your path, seize it immediately!
