A great marketer, Ryan Moran and million dollar business owner recently said……

In order to really stretch yourself, you should spend thirty percent of your time with people who are at a level that makes you uncomfortable. The other thirty percent of your time should be spent with people at your level and another thirty helping others who are at a lower level. Most of us spend our time in the middle level, which is why entrepreneurs have trouble growing.

We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with, so be strategic about who you spend time with. If you are not regularly getting around people who stretch you, encourage you, and invite you to think and process things differently, then you are not conscientiously creating your life. We are wired to be like who we spend time with. Be intentional about who you spend time with.

Think about this and makes changes if needed.

Increasing Local Business

As a Registered Google Partner, my goal is to keep up with all the tips and changes that happen regarding Google.

FYI, I love Google for many reasons and yes, I have frustrations along the way but the good is so much greater than the challenges.

Recently, I was getting some training and these are a few things that were talked about.

Some will be things you are already doing while others may be good reminders for you.

1. Determine your USP, your unique selling proposition or value add as Google calls it. Why are you special?

Is it location, customer service, extensive knowledge.

2. What is the goal you have in mind for your business? Increase profits, Gaining new customers. Adding new products, increase lead generation?

3. What are you doing to convert a prospect into a customer? Do you have a sales funnel? Do you have strong call to actions?

Think thru these 3 things, find the answers you need and take action.

Think Small!!

What?? Who ever teaches people to think small?

Well, I am here to tell you to think small.

Let’s start with this…….

“Small things are easy to do and….. Small things are ALSO easy NOT to do”

Read it again. Do you get it?

Everything Big is made up of small things. You don’t get big things first.

Does that make sense so far?


Let’s do an example. If I eat 2 cheeseburgers today at Macs, it is both easy to do and easy not to eat them.

And what makes it deceptive is that in the short term, nothing really bad happens the day I eat 2 burgers. And of course nothing really good happens either.

But if I made consistent small little good choices day after day.

So, this is a bit hard to argue with but we still don’t do it, we go after instant gratification. We are pleasure seekers.

Because I personally struggle with this, I have to make changes. Maybe you do too.

Let’s plant some seeds for the growth we are looking for.

Let’s set some goals, short term.

Let’s position ourselves in winning situations, little things like not buying potato chips night time snacking.

Let’s believe in the long term success by making small consistent decisions.

Can you make small decisions?

Yes you can,

I can. I will. I am.

Negative Keywords

Do you run Google Adword Campaigns?

If you do, and I hope you do, are you paying attention to “Negative keywords”?

If you don’t know what I am talking about there is an 100% chance you are wasting money
in your Google adwords account.

Basically, negative keywords are words that people search for and see your ad, then click on it and you get charged in your acct.

Inside your acct you will see all the words that people have searched for and found you. The problem is that many of those keywords MAT NOT BE WHAT YOU WANTED TO BE FOUND FOR. YIKES, WASTED MONEY.

I once had a prospect call for help, he fixed sewer pipes and one of his keywords was plumbing. When I looked into his acct. I saw that he had spent 8000.00 on that one key word and the worst part of it was that all the people who typed in something related to plumbing was actually looking for employment. They didn’t need work done, they wanted a job. Painful lesson.

Bottom line, know what keywords you are being found for and set your negative keywords for searches you do not want to be found for.

Another year is winding down for business owners and your clients.

How well did you do staying in touch?

If you are like most small businesses, just keeping up with day to day
pressures is all you felt like you could do. I get it and understand.

BUT……… here’s the rub.

Some competitor of yours is going after your customers, maybe as you read this!!

So, what should we do for 2015 and beyond?

Let’s plan to set up an email system using autoresponders. In case that term is foreign
to you, it’s simply a pre-planned sequence of emails that can be set up in one day for the
whole year.

Keep it simple and stay in touch with both customers as well as your pipeline of prospects.

You do have a large pipeline of prospects, don’t you? [If not, we need to talk]

Ok, the next obvious question might be “How do I set up these autoresponders”?

Good question. Lucky for you, the answer and tools are inexpensive and easy to use.

Autoresponders- Aweber and Getresponse are both great choices for about $20.00-$30.00 a month.

You can set up as many email responses as you like and have them automatically go out whenever you want.

No need to think about it all year. Pretty cool.

So, you now have the tools but what are you gonna write?

Lucky for you again, that’s a piece of cake.

Keep in mind, these emails are short and simple.
And the main rule to remember, NO HARD SELLING.

These emails are used for 2 Main Reasons.

1. To stay in front of them

2. To give value and build trust.

Sales will come, I promise you that.

So, what to write?

holiday wishes
instructional video’s
company news
special sales
new products or services
case studies
success stories
local news
famous quotes
and much more.

Next steps-
1.set aside a few hours to organize you list. Prospects and clients.

2. Get set up with one of the autoresponder companies

3. Write out your emails

4. Schedule the emails to go out either weekly or monthly

5. Get ready for new business with out any additional costs!!

If you have never done this consistently, you are in for a real treat.
