That didn’t even take 60 seconds. Read it again.

One salesman said he was training another one and showing him how he hands out flyers.

When they stopped the car to each get out and hand some flyers out, the trainee said

“I’ll Just Wait In The Car”

Wait in the car??? How did he think he was going to make any contacts?

So even if you don’t know for sure that your action will get results,
there is a good chance some kind of action is better
than no action at all!!

Go to it, my friend.

Recently I was out on a prospecting call. As soon as they small businees owner saw that I was not there to buy anything from him, he quickly said he was not interested.

Not Interested In What?

This small minded small business owner had no idea how offensive he was. He was purely self centered and had just one thought….what I was going to buy from him.

Do you think I will be buying anything from him? Or referring anyone to him?

What Could He Have Done?

He could have politely told me that he was happy with who he was using or any number of respectful ways to thank me for coming in but heis decision is final.

He was so quick on the draw that he hardly knew what I was even there to talk to him about at another time.

Treat everyone as you would want to be treated and you can gain new business without spending a dime.

Recently I went into a jewelry retail store with a client who wanted to put a small amount of brochures in the store to promote his business. He was also in the market to possibly buy some jewelry for his wife. The owner showed him some nice pieces and my client talked about bringing his wife to the store for her to look around.

The store was empty of customers and the jewelry was expensive. She needed all the customers she could get.

When my client, who I was training, asked if he could put a few brochures somewhere in the store she quickly said, No, I don’t want anything like that in my store.

Well, that didn’t exactly make my client want to rush his wife to the store to fill this owner’s pockets with their money.

Needless to say, the owner lost a very good prospect and potential long term customer. We will never know how much income was lost, but it was some amount and how many other prospects has this lady turned off? One is too many.

Here is a few lessons that can be learned from this situation. First, treat everyone with the highest of respect, especially vendors trying to sell you something. They see many people in the course of a week. Do you want them saying negative things about the way they were treated?
Next, be on the look out on how you can help others. Allowing my client to leave a few brochures in her store would not have caused her any harm and possibly helped him a great deal.
And finally, follow the golden rule. It’s not that hard. Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Practice every opportunity to find ways to be kind and generous, there is never a bad time to do it.

Life is tough and even those who wish to “look on the bright side” still get rained upon. And even when it appears that you are doing all that you know to receive the desired outcome and it still doesn’t come, what are we to think? Is it us? Are we expecting too much? Too little? Lazy? Working too hard at it? God doesn’t like me anymore? Guilt of some kind?

Did the cards get dealt to me with an unfair deck? Or maybe I am just destined to struggle?

As you can see, there are many ways to think about “why”.

But did you notice one thing?

Look again at the possibilities…..All my thoughts about my particular problem are negative. Amazing isn’t it? We naturally think this way and I could give you my well thought out reason for this but that is not the point of this article.

So, what can we do to instantly make change take place?

There’s good news and bad news. Actually, there is good news and more good news if you can follow along with me.

The truth is we have a challenge that appears to be hanging around much too long and it’s not what we asked for…or is it?

Let’s first look at what we asked for. And let’s say for fun we wanted to be a great teacher. You prayed to God and asked for just this one request. You wanted to be remembered for being a really great teacher.

Several teaching jobs become available and you jump at the chance only to watch another person get the job. And this goes on for much longer than is in your plans. Is this a good thing or a “not so good of a thing?”

Most of us know how a valuable pearl is refined. A whole lot of friction from the sand constantly rubbing up against it with no end in site. The poor little pearl has no idea if it will ever get out of its misery. It might even think its good enough at a certain point and just want to be done with the whole process.
But on and on it goes and then finally, one day it’s made into a very fine necklace and gracefully lying upon the skin of a beautiful women for all to admire. It paid the price, even when it didn’t want to.

If we could know now that the outcome would be exactly what we thought was best for us and it came exactly when WE thought was the best timing, do you really think we are that smart to know all this? I know I’m not.

So here’s what I do….

I make a decision that I am being watched over and there is a perfect plan for my life and for the issue I am dealing with. I choose to believe that whatever challenge that comes my way, is some form of sand working on me to prepare me for the position in life that I want, or believe that is best for me. So, while I am waiting and the sand keeps on rolling over me and it’s quite painful on many occasions, I can be thankful for that “friction” that is making into the great teacher that I wanted to be.

Actually, the more friction, the better if I want to be the best. In fact, “bring it on” as fast as possible so that I can be created and refined through all trials as quickly as possible so that when my opportunity comes, I am truly ready. The little pearl thought he was ready many, many times but he wasn’t. He didn’t know what he didn’t know.

I think we are like that too. So, whatever you are facing or have been facing, the very best way to succeed through it is believe now, believe today that the friction rubbing against you is exactly what you need and have asked for if you want a goal to go beyond “average”.

Your thoughts and your actions can be all negative just like the way this article started out or you can make a choice to pick out the 500 to 1000 things that are going great for you right this very moment.

Just to get you started let’s list just a few. And if you have anything over 50% of this small list, you are pretty darn fortunate.

You are still breathing
Most arms and legs still connected
Can smell a rose
Can see a sunrise
Able to hear beautiful music
Ah, the taste of your favorite food
[You don’t take any of these for “granted” do you?] A quick test to see if you do is asking yourself if you thanked your God today for them. Did you? Whoops.

Ok, a few more and then I’ll let the rest up to you.

Are you currently living inside a dwelling?
Any food recently? [Within the last few days]
Any money at all coming in?
Is there anyone who loves you? How many?
Could you smile right now if you wanted to?
Is it possible to make someone else happy right now with a kind word?

Ok, I think you see where we can go with all of this. It all comes down to a choice. Your choice. You are in total control. You choose to think and act the way you decide. No one does it for you.

So what does it really take? Well, it does require a conscious decision. You do have to want it and it takes courage. This world will pull you down and it will pull hard and often.

The question is, Are you going to let it rule you or are you deciding today and every day that you are the decision maker in your life?

I wish you all the success and to have the courage each day as the friction of the sand shapes you into the “pearl” you are becoming.
Embrace each obstacle, knowing that you are on your way to your destiny!

6 Easy Steps to Creating A Download Page, Your Gateway To
Selling Online Products

A question online I seem to hear a lot goes something like
this:

How can I find out how to set up a download page to sell my
products? Other marketers that I’ve asked won’t take the
time to tell me how it’s done…

While that’s a pretty common question that seems to stump
many who download products all the time, but have no idea
how it’s done.

If you are one who wants to get on the other side of the
sale - the selling side - the following information will
show you how it’s done.

Here’s a way to set up a download page so you can have your
own products ready to sell.

The first thing to understand is that a download page is
associated with a web site domain. It’s one of the elements
within the domain where you’ll have a main sales page that
offers your product. Then, after a sale takes place, the
customer must be sent to the download page in the process.

Setting up web directories (simple folders) and webpages is
what this entails.

Note: Part of this process includes having an autoresponder
to generate email receipts to confirm sales orders. However,
the usage of autoresponders is another subject all in itself
that we won’t cover here. But you will need use an
autoresponder in conjunction with the download process so be
sure to learn more about that as well.

Let’s get started on setting up the download process…

Follow these 6 steps to create your digital download system:

1) Create a new folder within your main website root
directory and rename it.

For the sake of example lets say your main website is
My-New-Site.com. Right click inside that folder and from the
menu select new folder and rename it. Now you have created a
new sub folder directory within the root directory to house
your product.

(Keep in mind there will also be a separate sub folder to
house all your images for instance, like an ebook cover,
etc)

Now let’s rename this new added sub folder, MyProduct.
(Note: you can name the folder anything you prefer that
would be appropriate for your product).

Now we have http://www.My-New-Site.com/MyProduct as an
added sub directory to the root site folder that points to this
product you want to set up for download.

Important Note: In each folder on your directory should
always create an index.html page which is the default page
for a particular directory.

This is in case someone tries to find what’s in your web
folder by backing-off characters of your URL. Without index
pages in your folder directories they could find all your
links leading to all your pages and files making them
vulnerable. But with an index page inside the folder, it
will default to that page only and that’s all they will see.

Note: An index page can be the main default page to the main
website or a product sales page, landing page or even an
error page, etc.

When you use an index page as an error page, it mainly
deflects your site links from being revealed. Thus, any text
you want them to see can be displayed on the error page to
greet them.

For instance, in case someone finds one of your inside
folders within your URL, you could have this type of message
in text there…

You Have Reached This Page In Error. Please Click This Link
To Continue.

Then point them to your main home page or someplace else.

Now getting back to our scenario of your download page set
up…

The content of the index.html (or index.htm) in the
MyProduct folder can have on it sales page copy that sells
the product you want to offer. Therefore, when someone types
in: http://www.My-New-Site.com/MyProduct
your sales page will appear.

i.e. The sales page could have sales copy, order buttons and
links on it, etc.

2) Now let’s name your product, ebook-xyz.pdf. It’s the PDF
file you want to sell and have ready for download.

3) In your MyProduct folder copy your download file/s like:
ebook-xyz.pdf, etc, into it. Note: You can have several
download items in your download folder. These could be PDF
ebooks or .EXE software in zip files or even fre e reports
to give away, etc.

Also note, you could set up yet another sub directory for
all your download products however for the sake for this
tutorial we’ll keep it simple.

4) Now let’s create the actual download page and name it
something like: dlp.html.

That stands for “download page” but don’t name the page so
blatant if you don’t want people to easily figure out your
download web address.

But for purposes of understanding this download page concept
we will use it as an example only.

Create a new web page in your web editor program. For
example, in the MyProduct folder you’ll create, name and
save your download page as: dlp.html.

Now add written content to your download page that will
instruct your visitors on downloading from the links you’ll
provide on this page.

5) To create a download link write text that says something
like: Click Here To Download. Next, highlight that text in
your web editor and while it’s still highlighted go to the
area where you can insert a hyperlink and then type in the
web URL to create your download web address.

6) When creating a download web address (which is a webpage
your customers can download from) what you’ll include is the
http, the www, your domain name, your product folder and
your download page name itself. And that’s how we arrive at
this download page web address:
http://www.My-New-Site-.com/MyProduct/dlp.html
(this is your download page you send customers to)

Once your customers click on your download link and if you
have all the elements loaded up to the web server in the
proper folders, they will be able to download the designated
file to their computer hard drive.

And finally, when you add the actual file name of your
download product (ebook-xyz.pdf) onto the very the end of
your web address, it will look something like this:
http://www.My-New-Site.com/MyProduct/ebook-xyz.pdf

This is your download link your customers actually download
off of your download page.

Also, try to comprehend the info from this following page
which is also related to setting up folders for a website.

Scroll down the page and look at how the web site folders
are laid out…

http://www.123WysiWyg.com/help

Be sure not to have any spaces between your characters when
creating your web links used for sites and if you want space
between characters, use hyphens rather than underscores.

Now your download web address can be put into a web browser
and your customers download the product/s they bought and
you’re in business!

IMPORTANT: When you create this download page you must
understand you’re building it on your computer’s hard drive
first - then after it’s completed, you must load up the web
folders, i.e. your webpages and all their files sent up to
your web server creating a duplicate website copy online.

This procedure is called FTP as in, File Transport Protocol.

Also Note: To sell digital products online you’ll need a
shopping cart so you can receive payments and give your
customers a way to pay for your products.

Here’s a few good ones you can use that make it easy:

Paypal.com
Clickbank.com
PayDotCom.com

If you want more shopping cart options, you can do a web
search on the term “online shopping cart”.

Just let the shopping cart handle the order processing and
once you get your order button links set up on your sales
page, you’re ready to start selling online because now you
know how to deliver digital download products.
